The very first question that a lot of people have been asking that I'm just gonna jump right into is what's the deal with the growth hormone export from China and how is that going to affect supply in the U.S.? So I actually have notes that I wrote on this because there's three very specific things that are affecting the growth hormone supply in the U.S. So first thing is you guys may or may not know this and this is something that's kind of been the ongoing trend is the big crackdown that U.S. Custom has imposed on peptide imports in 2026.
In Chicago alone, during the month of March, customs seized 351 air cargo shipments, and that included 455 pounds of growth hormone valued at around three million dollars, all of it coming out of China.
And so basically what they were doing was using what they call a master carton method which is where they import big boxes containing pre-labeled smaller packages for domestic redistribution. One large shipment clears the border, gets broken open on this side, and the small packages get dropped into the domestic mail already addressed to the end customer.
There was also another Customs and Border Protection operation in Cincinnati that caught 300 or more cartons which basically included 5,000 shipments.
Then there's the shipping side, and if you guys don't know this, the two major shippers that Chinese peptide exporters use is FedEx and USPS, but most of them have moved completely off of using FedEx and that's because a lot of those freight forwarders have actually stopped accepting any shipments containing growth hormone from China.
To import legally, the package has to carry a performance invoice listing what's inside for commercial shipments, so once growth hormone or anything related to it shows up on that paperwork, the shipper declines the freight before it ever moves.
Now, the one thing that did take effect starting on May 15th that's actually affecting the production of growth hormone is China did a huge overhaul of their drug administration law implementation rules. This is the first change to those laws since 2002, and it puts full life cycle accountability on manufacturers.
So that includes quality assurance, pharmacovigilance, supply chain traceability, which is a very big one that's affecting a lot of those manufacturers. If you are buying gray market peptides, there is a good chance the shop you were using has quietly pulled growth hormone off its product list, because the compliance burden to keep producing it is no longer worth it to them.
Sleep questions came in next, and they split into two groups that need completely different answers.
The people in the first group struggle just to fall asleep in the first place, and the pattern I see with these clients is stimulation right up to the moment they get in bed. I cannot point you to a study that tells you the root cause is psychological or attention related, so I will just tell you what the fix looks like. There's really no time that you're taking that's away from a screen and you're never giving your eyes or your brain time to rest and you're basically in constant overdrive, overstimulated.
So kill the screens one to two hours before your scheduled bedtime, and put blackout curtains up. It's gonna help with your sleep quality tremendously, much more than you believe it will, okay? So that's the first thing.
After that, pick up an actual paperback book instead, not a Kindle, not your phone, not Audible, just a physical book, non-fiction, about an hour out. Most of the time when you start to feel tired, close your book in a dark room, no TV, you're away from the screen and that's gonna help you get to bed peacefully without any distractions and all these things running through your mind.
You won't feel the payoff by the fourth night, so don't judge it that early. But if you stay consistent, especially with the time that you do this routine and you set up this nighttime routine and you follow it, we'll say for 30 days, you're gonna notice a profound difference in your ability to get to sleep and stay asleep, okay? If that doesn't work or if you'd like to augment that with peptides, I think probably the two that are gonna have the biggest impact on helping you get to sleep is gonna be number one, Selenq, Selenq is phenomenal for helping to manage anxiety, kind of calms the mind, works really well for a lot of people. The second is a couple IUs of growth hormone, fasted, before bed.
Now, on the other side of the coin, if you're the type of person who has no problem getting to sleep but you wake up a few hours later, you know, and then you have a problem getting back to sleep afterwards, a lot of times what I've found is for these people, it's usually a problem related to hormonal balance, or it has something to do with your blood sugar, right? So when you eat, what foods you eat before bed, all that stuff, okay? So what I'll say is this, is don't eat carbs during the last meal of your day if you can prevent that and if you do, make sure that they're complex carbs and or they're accompanied by plenty of fiber, okay? That's the first thing and like I said, try not to eat within two hours of going to bed, right? So if like your bedtime is 10 p.m., don't eat anything after 8 p.m., okay? That's gonna help stabilize your blood glucose. I will say plainly that the research hasn't sorted out how much of this is hormonal versus stress driven, so treat the hormonal piece as what I see in clients rather than settled science.
Here is the chain as I understand it. A lot of times the reason why people wake up in the middle of the night is because their blood sugar drops because they ate simple carbs and they're riding this insulin wave from eating shitty processed food all day and so at two, three o'clock in the morning, that insulin in the blood runs dry and their adrenaline spikes because their body gets hungry, it pulls them out of sleep and then once they get pulled out of sleep, it creates that initial spike of cortisol, which is exactly why they have a hard time getting back to sleep.
You get hungry an hour after you eat and that's because you're not eating whole foods, healthy, you know, things that grow from the ground, right? Fix your diet and most of the time your sleep will follow.
What's the best way to preserve my load volume while I'm on TRT? The best way to preserve your testicular function and fertility while you're on TRT is to include HCG. HCG is a synthetic hormone that replicates luteinizing hormone, which is a signal that goes from your pituitary gland to your testicles to tell it to produce, and when you take exogenous testosterone, a shot, you're on TRT, what happens is your body will stop producing that hormone because it doesn't feel that it needs to produce anymore. No luteinizing hormone reaching the testicles means no production, and tissue that stops working long enough atrophies.
One of the supplements that I've personally found has had the greatest influence on that is adding about 15 to 30 milligrams of zinc to colonate per day, okay? Zinc is basically giving your testicles the raw material that they need, and just doing something as simple as that is gonna significantly increase the volume of your ejaculate, and keep your boyfriend happy.
Okay, so we've kind of talked through this theory that I had that talked about if you're taking a GLP-1 medication, theoretically, because of the gastric emptying, because of being slowed from that GLP-1, what's gonna happen is it's also going to delay quote unquote being fasted, which is going to influence how long you need to wait before you take your growth hormone peptides.
The only way to tell if you are truly quote unquote fasted and whether or not taking that GLP-1 medication increases the amount of time that it takes for your stomach to be empty, which in turn would label you as a fasted state, it's actually the insulin level, would be to put on a continuous glucose monitor, okay? It's one of those little disks that sits on the back of your arm. There is no controlled study on this and no real data specific to food type, so the honest answer is we do not know the number.
