What's up, brother?
Today, let's dig deep into the power of living with purpose.
Remember the great fire of 1666 that leveled London? Christopher Wren was given the monumental job of rebuilding St. Paul's Cathedral.
One day in 1671, he watched three bricklayers at work.
To the first, he asked, "What are you doing?"
"I'm a bricklayer," came the reply. "I'm working hard to feed my family."
The second responded, "I'm a builder. I'm building a wall."
The third, however, said with a gleam in his eye, "I am a cathedral builder. I'm building a great cathedral to the Almighty."
Three men, same job, same structure—different mindset.
As men, we have an internal calling that drives us. It’s the itch we need to scratch, the difference we desire to make in the world.
If you're battling with depression, anxiety, or lack of motivation like I once did, it’s likely because you feel you could be doing more, be more significant, and create a bigger impact.
You matter. You can influence. You’re capable. But somehow, you’ve halted your pursuit of purpose.
The three bricklayers were all performing the same task—the only difference was their mindset.
You might not control everything in life, but you can control how you show up. Do you have a winning attitude, driven by purpose? Or are you stuck with a loser's mindset, lacking the will to be more?

This, my friend, is what the Japanese call Ikigai—the reason for being.
As a man, you need a reason to matter. Nothing feels better than knowing you are valued and appreciated. It’s your responsibility to create a life where you receive that acknowledgment.
It starts with appreciating, valuing, and respecting yourself. Once you do that, the world's validation comes naturally.
