Sozo
Josh opens the video standing in front of a cardboard box, trying to figure out which way it goes, and he makes it clear right away that this moment is less about the box and more about what is inside it, which is a banner for a business started by someone named Mike.
Mike is someone Josh knows, and the business Mike has started falls into the same general category as companies Josh already owns, which technically makes Mike a competitor in the research chemical space.
Josh does not treat this as a threat or a problem, and instead he explains his view that the market is large enough that two people doing similar work do not have to be enemies, because there are enough customers and enough money and enough opportunity for both of them to succeed without one having to take from the other.
This mindset, sometimes called something called abundance thinking, which is the belief that resources and success are not fixed and limited but instead expandable so that one person winning does not require another person losing, runs through everything Josh says about Mike's new venture.
The company Mike has started is called Sozo, and the name comes from something called New Testament Greek, which is the form of the Greek language used when the Christian scriptures were written roughly two thousand years ago.
The word sozo appears more than one hundred times across the New Testament, and its meaning is broader than most single English words can capture, because it carries the sense of saving someone, healing them, delivering them from harm, and making them whole all at once.
Theologians sometimes describe this as something called holistic salvation, which is the idea that being saved in the biblical sense was never meant to refer only to forgiveness of wrongdoing but instead pointed to a complete restoration of a person across their physical body, their mental state, their relationships, and their freedom from forces working against them.
The Greek root itself is related to another word called soteria, which translates roughly as salvation or deliverance, and both words point toward a condition of wholeness and safety rather than a single transactional moment of being forgiven.
When Mike chose this word as the name for a research chemical company, he was pulling on that layered meaning, because research chemicals occupy a space where people are often looking for restoration of some kind, whether that is recovery from a condition, optimization of function, or access to compounds that the mainstream market has not yet studied or approved.
The banner Josh pulls out of the box is going to be hung inside his gym, which is a physical gesture that matters as much as anything he says in the video, because hanging a competitor's branding in your own space is a way of putting your stated values into practice rather than just saying them out loud.
Josh owns multiple companies and has built those businesses in an environment where the research chemical industry is competitive and not always friendly between operators, so the act of promoting Sozo is notable within that context.
The video does not go into detail about what specific compounds or products Sozo will carry, focusing instead on the name, the origin of the name, and Josh's decision to support Mike publicly rather than ignore the new company or treat its existence as a problem.
What the video does make visible is the structure of a particular kind of business relationship where two people operating in overlapping spaces choose cooperation over competition, and where one person with an established platform uses that platform to give visibility to someone newer rather than protect their own market share by staying quiet.
The etymology of the word sozo also does real work in the video, because it frames what a research chemical company might mean to its customers not just as a transactional supplier of substances but as something connected to the older idea of making a person whole, and that framing is a kind of positioning that separates the brand from purely clinical or commercial language.
Naming a company after a word that means to heal and deliver and make whole is a statement about what the company believes it is doing, and Josh takes a moment to explain that meaning rather than just showing the banner and moving on.
The box itself is almost a throwaway detail, just Josh fumbling with the packaging and wondering which way it opens, but it grounds the video in a real moment rather than a polished announcement, and that texture is part of how Josh tends to communicate with his audience.
