Why 5-On 2-Off Dosing For CJC-1295 And Ipamorelin Makes No Biological Sense
Can I run CJC and hyperborelin seven days per week or five on two off? So the five on two off kind of comes from two things, and neither of them is about your body.
Before the reasons, the chain itself, because it explains everything downstream.
Your hypothalamus releases growth hormone releasing hormone, which tells your pituitary to pulse growth hormone. Your pituitary also listens to ghrelin, a gut hormone that amplifies that same pulse. Growth hormone then travels to your liver and triggers IGF-1, which is what actually does most of the tissue work people are chasing.
CJC-1295 and tesamorelin sit on the first arm of that chain and mimic the hypothalamic signal. Ipamorelin sits on the second arm and mimics ghrelin. Two different doors into the same room.
That distinction is the entire answer to the dosing question, and I'll come back to it.
The first is like old school bodybuilders, they didn't wanna shut down their production of growth hormone and having that two days off was enough to give their pituitary the ability to continue to fire and not shut down. That fear was reasonable at the time, because they were mostly thinking about exogenous growth hormone, and injecting actual HGH does suppress your own pulsatile output through negative feedback at the hypothalamus.
Studies now tell us that regardless of how long you're on the growth hormone for, it only takes at most a couple days for your pituitary to start producing GH on its own. So that's not really necessary.
And with these peptides you're not even replacing the signal, you're asking the pituitary to make its own hormone, which means the gland is working the entire time rather than sitting idle.
But the second reason why they recommend the five on two off and this is kind of spilled over into the scumbag TRT clinics that you see out there pushing peptides is that this shit they're already selling for a fucking arm and a leg.
So to make the price of what they're selling this stuff more digestible, what they'll do is they'll suggest you go onto a five on two off because it extends the length of time that you get that cycle for and it makes it so that they can do a better job of selling it to you.
Do the math on it. Five days a week instead of seven stretches a one month vial into roughly forty days, so the monthly number on your invoice looks smaller while the price per milligram never moves.
The real reason to cycle anything here comes back to which door the peptide uses.
Ipamorelin works through the ghrelin receptor, and receptors that get hit with a synthetic agonist every single day tend to downregulate, meaning the cell pulls receptors off the surface and the same dose starts producing a smaller pulse over time. That's tachyphylaxis, and it's the thing worth planning around.
CJC-1295 and tesamorelin work through the GHRH receptor, which does not blunt the same way, partly because your pituitary's own release pattern still gates the response.
Truthfully, you can be on CJC or Tessamerelin pretty much all the time without coming off ever.
And the only thing that you need to cycle would be the Iporelin, which would be a 90 on 30 off type of thing.
So the practical version: run the GHRH side continuously, run ipamorelin for about ninety days, take thirty off, and during that thirty days you keep the CJC or tesamorelin going because there's no receptor problem to solve on that arm.
If money is the constraint, cut the ipamorelin first rather than skipping weekends across both, because two days off does nothing for either receptor and just shortens the time you spend in the state you paid for.
