Can You Stack MK-677 With Ipamorelin? (How to Cycle Them Right)
Can I go from MK677 straight to CJC and ipamorelin with no break? No, the reason for that is because both MK677 and ipamorelin are influencing your ghrelin receptors on the pituitary gland and those receptors desensitize over time. They are the same key in the same lock, so running one after the other is not a break at all, it is just the same signal continuing under a different name.
To see why, you have to know how growth hormone actually gets released, because there are two separate doors into the pituitary.
The first door is the GHRH receptor, and GHRH is growth hormone releasing hormone, the signal your hypothalamus sends to tell the pituitary to make and release growth hormone. CJC1295, tesamorelin, and sermorelin all knock on that door.
The second door is the ghrelin receptor, sometimes called the growth hormone secretagogue receptor, which is the same receptor your hunger hormone uses. Ipamorelin knocks on that one. MK677 knocks on that one too.
I'm not 100% sure what the direct mechanism of MK677 is off the top of my head, that's something I would have to do some research on, but I also know that peptides like hexarelin as well as MK677, which I know is in a peptide, are going to basically hammer the pituitary on that same receptor.
Receptors do not just sit there taking an unlimited signal. When a receptor gets stimulated constantly with no gap, the cell starts pulling those receptors off the surface and stops responding as strongly to the same dose. That is desensitization, and it is why a compound that worked beautifully in week three does very little by week sixteen.
The two doors matter because stimulating both at once produces more growth hormone than either alone, which is the actual argument for pairing a GHRH analog with a ghrelin-receptor compound. Pairing two ghrelin-receptor compounds gives you nothing extra. You are just crowding the same door.
So what I would do is if you're going to do MK677, I would pair that with a CJC or testamorelin if growth hormone is not your option.
Keep in mind that this would be specifically for like a bulking phase because it's going to really increase your appetite where ipamorelin doesn't really do that. MK677 is orally active and has a long half life, so it sits on the ghrelin receptor for most of the day, and hunger is part of that package. Ipamorelin is injectable, clears fast, and is far more selective, which is why it does not drive appetite the same way.
But just look at ipamorelin and MK677 as kind of interchangeable, right? So it would be one or the other. Pick based on whether you want the appetite or you do not.
You're going to need to cycle those for 90 days on and then do 30 days off. The 30 days is not a rest from peptides in general, it is a rest for that one receptor population, giving the pituitary time to put those receptors back on the cell surface and recover its response.
During the time that you're off of the ipamorelin or MK677, you can continue to use the GHRH analog like CJC1295 or testamorelin or even sermorelin to keep that production going the best you can. Different door, different receptor, so it is not fighting the recovery you are trying to get.
But you definitely don't want to go right from one to the other and you absolutely don't want to stack them.
Most people who feel a peptide protocol stop working assume they need a higher dose or a stronger compound, when what they actually need is for one receptor to be left alone for a month.
